Advanced Transportation
Advanced Transportation
Funding: $250,000, Duration: 24 months
This grant program is in its last few months of operation - it ends August 2008.

Under the grant the ATTE Center at Miramar
  • provides technical assistance to schools to help them get NATEF and AYES Certified;
  • participates in project curriculum development, professional development and counselor training;
  • coordinates development of new industry linkages with high schools and Miramar College;
  • and helps develop internship opportunities for students.
This work includes education on alternative fuels and vehicles.

San Diego Unified School District School-to-Career Office works closely with the project to develop articulated high school curriculum designed to prepare students for the Miramar College programs. SDCS School-to-Career staff coordinates project activities between the college and high schools, help organize and coordinate training activities, and will assist in disseminating information about the training opportunities available through the project to high school teachers.

In varying ways essentially eight SDCS high schools participate in the project: Crawford High, Scripps Ranch, Clairemont High, Madison High, Morse High, Point Loma High, SciTech High, and Serra High.
