This purpose of this SB 70 project is to increase awareness of high school to college CTE programs of study and related careers at the middle school level. Objectives and activities demonstrate the integration of technology, use of middle school focus groups, and marketing strategies to build middle school student awareness of their interests, school options, possible CTE Pathways and high school courses. In addition, interactive tools that have been developed allow students to be pro-active in their own future. Training has been conducted to Counselors at pilot schools with plans underway to offer districtwide Counselor training at all middle schools. An expected outcome of the project is that students and parents will make informed choices on high school course and program offerings in CTE programs of study that offer early college and career transition preparation.
