Mesa College (GIS): Mesa College staff will work in partnership with local business and industry professionals and high school and ROCP representatives to implement an innovative and sophisticated geospatial education and training program for both students and teachers. This will include educational workshops with high school staff, Mesa GIS faculty, and industry specialists that focus on workforce needs, industry trends, and exciting training solutions for high schools (linked to, and articulated with, local colleges). In addition, innovative and interactive multi-media learning modules--incorporating input from industry and teachers--will be developed for high school students. These learning modules will educate students on potential geospatial career areas and exciting developments and applications in GIS and GPS, as well as promote spatial awareness, visualization technologies, and GIS as a powerful problem-solving tool for a broad range of industries.
